Photoshoot for my CNCTPHO (Concept Photography) class.

One of our midterm requirements in CNCTPHO is to submit all our plates in hard copy. I had a hard time layouting this since I was making my other projects for midterm, anyway, here it is.

We didn’t have a photoshoot for CNCTPHO, instead my professor opted for a lecture class. She taught us the best lighting for white-on-white and black-on-black stuff. It was pretty informative.  Anyway, that’s my professor in the first image (with the camera).

One of our midterm requirements in CNCTPHO was to submit a photo with the theme ‘Conversation Starter’. Basically, we were asked to capture a moment or a scene that will make people talk about it. Concept in the photograph was an essential requirement. Since I’m a fan of fashion photography, I’ve decided to do that. Below is my creative brief:Overview: Modern Snow WhiteMessage: The photo seeks to encapsulate another version of Snow White. Wittier and more cunning. Compared to the trustful counterpart in the fairytale, this Snow White represents a woman who thinks, a woman who makes decisions in her life. She is guided on her own. A woman of the modern era. She is no longer the woman who is traditional and uneducated. This Snow White will not bite an apple just because an old woman says so.Look and Feel: I wanted a dark interpretation of Snow White with some minimalistic/modern streaks of how I interpret Snow White in real life. She wears a red ribbon but has strays on her body to indicate her femininity and her rebellious streak. She wears dark make-up to signify a villainous type of Snow White. I portrayed her to become villainous with the simple reason that most villains (that are portrayed as a woman) are cunning, deceptive and smart. I want a Snow White that thinks, and is not naïve.My light set-up for this project: p.s.
The photo included in this post is the one I submitted in class, but in the finalized photo set, it has a different post-processing. Visit this [link] to check it out.

Outtakes during the ‘Snow White’ shoot with Annie Lopez. This shoot is for my CNCTPHO class, the theme was ‘Conversation Starter’. More outtakes here.

Outtakes during our CNCTPHO’s class pin-up shoot. I’m not allowed to post the ‘official’ photos, but I think this would do :)

For our third plate in CNCTPHO, our youthful professor asked us for portraiture. There was no need for a concept, just a portrait shoot to demonstrate the basic artificial lighting set-up in a studio. We were required to submit (3) photos. Above is my top 3 from this set. If you guys are interested to check out all the images I took and post-processed, click this [link] Below is my light-set up for this shoot :)

Though we were only required to do some  portraiture, I wanted some sort of concept from the shoot. My initial idea was a Phoenix, but because I had less than three days to prepare for the shoot (which is not really an excuse), I opted for the color theme ‘Red’. It’s not much, but I guess I’m pretty much contented with it. Shout out to my boyfriend for being awesome (as always) carrying the heavy stuff, helping me set-up and all. I’m seriously nothing without him :|

Some outtakes during my CNCTPHO homework plate. The title of the shoot is ‘Red’, the homework was just all about portraits. More outtakes here: [link]

Our second plate in CNCTPHO was all about Climate Change. I’m not a big fan of the theory, but what the heck. Our professor asked us to shoot anything that would portray climate change. I’ve decided to go shoot still life. I bought some toys in the nearest grocery store and started shooting. I’m not really good at still life photos, but I’m glad that it looked decent somehow. Below is the lighting set-up we were required to submit with the photos. The glass and the objects were placed in a product table.
